About The Team

We are a team of haematologists based in the Thames Valley with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as our tertiary specialist hospital. We have expertise across the whole range of haematology- red cell disorders, immuno-haematology, transfusion, clotting, obstetric haematology, myeloma, leukaemia, lymphoma and transplant.

We are committed to providing high quality teaching resources for haematology trainees in the UK and beyond.

Dr. Noemi Roy

Dr. Noémi Roy

Dr Roy is a Consultant Haematologist at Oxford University Hospitals and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at University of Oxford. Her main interests are haemoglobinopathies and rare inherited anaemias, and in particular the genetic investigation of inherited anaemias, including whole genome sequencing. Dr Roy is also involved in investigating the management of iron deficiency in diverse patient groups. She is dedicated to using patients' views to guide how research in conducted in haematology and coordinating best practice care in red cell disorders at the European level. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and Royal College of Physicians.

Dr. Sue Pavord

Dr. Sue Pavord

Dr Pavord is a Consultant Haematologist at Oxford University Hospitals and Associate Senior Lecturer in Medicine. Her special areas of interest are obstetric haematology, haemostasis, thrombosis and transfusion medicine. She is co-chair of the BSH Obstetric Haematology Group and joint editor of The Obstetric Haematology Manual (Pavord Hunt). Sue runs international courses on haematology in obstetrics, has over 90 publications and book chapters and has authored national and international guidelines relating to the management of haematological disorders in pregnancy. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and Royal College of Physicians.
